Spent Xmas at a hotel recently and, to be honest, it wasn't the worst experience I've had. The best aspects of the hotel were the free breakfast, which was quite nice, and the Wi-Fi, which was surprisingly fast. The location was also pretty good, with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. One thing I particularly enjoyed was the quietness of the hotel, it wasn't too busy or noisy.
